Cody Michaels and Nicole Leisen interview Heather King, assistant curator at the Dunedin Historical Museum, about her Scots-Irish background’s influence on her personal and professional life. Mrs. King, originally from Pittsburgh, recounts the history of Dunedin and explains how the city’s Scottish heritage is manifested through various community activities. King, whose three-times-great grandfather arrived at Ellis Island in the mid 1800s, then talks in great detail about her family history across multiple generations. Mrs. King also discusses Irish pride, religion, and discrimination as relating to the community of Dunedin and her own family.
