It’s entirely appropriate to articulate the vision of “Never again.” It is a principle we have to live by. It is what we need to strive for. But we need to be realistic that, in trying to strive for “Never again,” we’re gonna go through probably a long period in our lifetimes, if not later, of it still occurring. But, I think what was memorialized after World War Two is still extremely relevant for us today, and I don’t think we need to be too paranoid if we say this must never happen again, and then suddenly it happens again. This is a vision, this is a hope, this is a goal to live for, the “Never again” goal. I think it would be very misplaced to hold those who believe in this not happening again somehow accountable literally for it happening again, because it’s gonna happen again. But I think we do have a responsibility to pursue that goal and use all of our capabilities to achieve it.
